Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and the choices you have.

## Who we are
MindMe International ("MindMe", "we", "us") is a community-development organisation founded in 2012. This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

## What we collect
- When you donate: your name, email address, the amount and currency, what you would like your gift to support, the date, and a payment reference. We never receive or store your card number or M-Pesa PIN. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Paystack.
- When you contact us: your name, email address, organisation, and the message you send through the "Partner with us" form.
- When you visit: our server keeps basic technical records (such as the pages requested and the time) so we can keep the website secure and working. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

## Why we use it
- To process your gift, send you a receipt and keep the records an organisation must keep.
- To reply to your message or discuss a partnership.
- To protect the website against misuse.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

## Who else sees it
- Paystack processes online payments (cards and M-Pesa) and applies its own privacy rules.
- Our email and hosting providers store and deliver messages and keep the website running.
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.

## How long we keep it
We keep donation records for as long as the law and our accounting rules require. Messages from the partnership form are kept while we are discussing or working together, and for a reasonable time afterwards. We then delete or anonymise them.

## Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it where we are not legally required to keep it. You can also object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict that use. To do any of this, contact us using the details on this page. If you are unhappy with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Kenya.

## Photos and children
We take care with photographs. We only publish pictures of children and community members where consent has been given by them or a parent or guardian. If you appear in a photo and want it removed, tell us and we will take it down promptly.

## Security
This website is served over HTTPS. Access to donation records is limited to authorised staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and fix problems quickly.

## Changes to this page
We may update this page from time to time. The latest version is always the one shown here.
